Ash Wednesday Services
We will have services of Holy Communion and ashes at 12 noon and 6:30 p.m. on Ash Wednesday, February 14. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a time of preparation and moderation leading up to Easter.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
Our 76th Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper will be on February 13, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the church undercroft. For $5 per person, you’ll get all-you-can eat pancakes (regular, chocolate chip, blueberry, apple cinnamon), sausages, and drinks. Preschoolers eat for free. And we’ll have face painting this year! Annual Meeting – One Service at 9:30 a.m.
Our annual meeting will be held in the sanctuary on Sunday, January 21, following the 9:30 a.m.service. We will discuss the church budget, elect new vestry members, and vote on conventiondelegates. We will have an activity for children to do while they sit with their parents during the meeting.
Epiphany Celebration
We will celebrate the Epiphany, which is the feast day that commemorates God’s revelation of Himself to the world through the Incarnation of Jesus Christ, on Sunday, January 7, after the 10 a.m. service. Christmas Clean Up
We will take down the Christmas greens and put away the decorations after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, January 7. Please plan to help with this task. Afterwards we will all head to the undercroft for our traditional Epiphany celebration pitch-in lunch!
St. Augustine’s Christmas Services
Our Children’s Christmas Eve service will be in the sanctuary at 6 p.m. Children of all ages and the young-at-heart are all invited to attend this service of music and stories about the birth of Jesus. Hanging of the Greens
We will decorate the sanctuary for Christmas after the 10 a.m. service on December 17. We will have a pitch-in lunch after the decorating is finished. Please join us and help decorate our church with candles and greenery, and please bring a dish to share for the pitch-in if you’d like.
Sunday School Christmas Program
Our Sunday School children will present their musical Christmas program on December 17, at the end of the 10 a.m. service. This presentation is sure to be fun and festive!
Harvest Home Sunday
We will collect donations of canned and boxed non-perishable food items for Harvest Home Sunday on November 19. Our donations will be given to Shared Blessings, our local food pantry. Food items wanted include canned fruits and vegetables, soups, boxed dinners, microwave meals, jars of peanut butter and jelly, dried beans, rice, jarred sauces, crackers,…
